EXCLUSIVE AT MR PORTER. Mr Benoît Mintiens started out designing trains, aircraft cabins and medical devices before founding Ressence ; a house that's turning watchmaking tradition on its head. The'Type 5'is its first diving reference and has an ergonomic shape inspired by sea turtles to allow for superb legibility underwater. The domed dial is split into two chambers, the top one is filled with oil to counteract light refraction so it can be viewed at any angle, and the liquid suspension also reduces friction between the moving parts, keeping it highly accurate; the lower is filled with air and houses the base calibre. This piece has a lightweight grade 5 titanium case with a compression-lock-system back for winding and setting time.
