The “Green Cheetah Big Bambu Lamp consists of a triple-tiered; two-tone verdigris-tinted cast-plaster base; a lacquered 1. 5 bamboo column with pyrographed cheetah spots; and a cloth-like pale green rice-paper shade; with seaweed-green lambskin and brown leather accents; made from a contemporary Japanese parasol. The shade; which has been waterproofed with tung oil in the traditional manner; is reassuringly durable and difficult to tear. Unlacquered brass hardware; a terra-cotta cloth-covered cord; and a vintage-style plug complete the modernist vibe. The column is detachable from the base for easy shipping via UPS in three separate boxes. Made-to-order by hand in New York in a signed and numbered edition by artist Christopher Tennant.
