The Abalone Task Lamp is part of the Venus Collection; a whimsical new family of handmade fixtures inspired by the Surrealists and the natural forms of the sea. Employing the latest advances in cool-to-the-touch LED technology; the collection features table lamps and wall sconces made with hand-selected specimen seashells in place of traditional shades; putting the organic source material behind so much 20th century modernism front and center. A riff on the 20th century workplace staple; it consists of a terra cotta-tinted cast-concrete base and hand-wrapped paper-cord column topped by a cantilevered shade crafted from a sustainably sourced; barnacle-flecked brown Abalone seashell with a silver-hued; mother-of-pearl interior.
