The Ex-Voto Bust Candle by Cire Trudon is a non-scented wax reproduction, presented with a wick as a tribute to the candle’s original function. The source Ex-Voto was found during archaeological excavations in Syria in the 1850s and was most likely an offering to a Syrian deity; its engraved wrist dedication, “Prokla en ex-voto,” means “For herself or her house, to dedicate.” Created as part of Cire Trudon’s collaboration with the Réunion des Musées Nationaux, the reproduction references an original work exhibited at the Louvre and measures approximately 5.11 inches tall.
