Place the candle on a flat, heatresistant surface. Protect delicate materials such as wood or marble by placing the candle on a tray or coaster. Keep the candle away from flammable materials. Keep the candle out of reach of children and pets. Use a match to avoid any risk of burns. For the first burn, allow the candle to burn until the entire surface of the wax has liquefied (approximately 4 hours, depending on the fragrance). This prevents the wax from tunneling and ensures the wick is fully saturated, guaranteeing an even burn thereafter. The wick may emit a slight amount of smoke when first lit. Do not let the candle burn for more than 4 consecutive hours after the initial burn. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Do not move a candle while it is lit or while the wax is still hot. Keep the candle away from drafts. Leave a distance of at least 10 cm (4 inches) between candles.
