The Rolex Explorer II is a stainless steel automatic watch with a 40 mm round case, screw-down case back and black dial. It features a sapphire crystal, luminous dot, rectangle and triangle markers, Mercedes and skeleton hands, a red 24-hour hand, and 24-hour and date displays with sweep seconds. The watch is fitted with a stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet, reference 78790, and folding flip-lock clasp; this circa 1998 example is reference 16570 and includes Rolex punched papers.
