Men's Designer Knitwear

Sweaters and cardigans from Brunello Cucinelli, Loro Piana, Zegna, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, John Smedley, Stone Island, Tom Ford and Polo Ralph Lauren make up Vêtir's men's knitwear. A fine-gauge merino or cashmere crewneck layers neatly under a blazer or an overcoat, while heavier cable knits and shawl-collar cardigans work on their own as a top layer in fall. Cashmere is the warmest for its weight, merino is the easiest to look after, and cotton knits suit spring evenings. A good fit is close at the shoulder with sleeves ending at the wrist bone, so compare the brand's chest measurement with a sweater you already own. Half the edit costs between about $400 and $1,500, and Italian cashmere from the heritage mills runs higher. Hand-wash or dry-clean, and store knits folded so they keep their shape.
